Notes - gms errors / Orwell / tomorrow +

0849 hours. The last couple of days I have made sloppy mistakes in the postings. I hope this is not the beginning of downhill mentality. I usually catch most errors but Norrises rather than Norris’ is a bad one. Then on an earlier post I didn’t check the spelling on Schwinn and Jaguar – just plain sloppy. My feeling is that if my grammar is that bad then the thinking/reasoning-in-content is not that good either. Orwell has a quote relating to this and right now I’m not remembering it either. Here is one that is pertinent:

“If people cannot write well, they cannot think well, and if they cannot think well, others will do their thinking for them.”

And I found another that is still pertinent online:

“The great enemy of clear language is insincerity. When there is a gap between one’s real and one’s declared aims, one turns, as it were, instinctively to long words and exhausted idioms, like a cuttlefish squirting out ink.” – George Orwell

Evening. Before leaving you had an Egg McMuffin lunch at McD’s near King’s Island. You arrived mid-afternoon. Paul was putting up the outdoor Christmas lights and Kim was working in the kitchen. Carol helped. You had one more trip to Kroger’s, this one nearby on Rt. 23 (Columbus Road). Sandwiches for supper. Kim and Paul went to a party after bathing the boys. Carol, you and the boys watched part of “Up” before Carol read them a story before bed. Carol is reading and you are thinking about going to bed. – Amorella

2137 hours. Tomorrow will be a good busy with family and food. Friday morning we invited Kim, Paul and the boys to a 49th Anniversary Breakfast. Kim said she would have a 50th Anniversary Party next year but I think we talked her out of it. We never had a party as such for any of them. Traditionally we exchange cards and have a good dinner out with close family or a greater symbolic dinner that includes birthdays and/or anniversaries sometime in the next two, three or six month period – never were big on social parties. – I’m glad we’re here. It’s good to see everyone. We have a good time.

Time for bed, orndorff. Post. - Amorella
