Later in the afternoon. This is Amorella.
On Saturday, Richard's lower back became more painful and he spent more time
resting. Sunday, the pain grew worse. He spent most of the morning resting in bed. Shortly after two Carol came in
and said, "Why don't we leave now rather than wait until tomorrow
morning?"
Since you had just taken the heat pad
into use you agreed because the car has an excellent heating pad built in. By
three o'clock they had packed the car and you had stopped for gas on West Shore
and were off. You traveled to Calhoun, Georgia, going through Atlanta after
nine -- no congestion, no slowing down
below fifty all the way through). You arrived at Calhoun about eleven and
stayed at the Holiday Inn Express just at Kim and Paul had done. You were home
by four-thirty in the afternoon. On the way you had made an appointment at the doctor's
at eleven on Tuesday (yesterday). After a better night's sleep and more pain
pills you rested and had a bath with the bubbler on.
Today the pain had not subsided enough to
go downstairs until now. You have used the heating pad for the last three hours
while sitting in the bedroom chair. Meanwhile, Linda had volunteered to drive
up with you and Carol to help with driving as needed. It turns out you drove
the whole way because you were comfortable driving. Carol and Linda went
shopping yesterday and went again this morning and afternoon. They actually
each bought something at the L. L. Bean store in Kenwood. Linda is flying home
next week from Columbus courtesy of you and Carol. Linda said she was ready for
a road trip anyway. - Amorella
1720 hours. She was ready and very helpful
for Carol in packing and repacking, etc. Besides, both like to shop even though
they rarely buy anything. I am feeling better at the present.
