Notes - quality of life / spring equinox sunset

       1501 hours. People are enjoying the sun and warmth. Kim, Paul and the boys have been playing on the beach by making sand castles (I can see one from here) but they are now at the pool which is well warmed for their adventure. We have seen the film Moana several times now. The boys sing all the songs, sometimes one or two to begin breakfast. I thought they were chanting when I went out to the table. When watching the film the first time we adults had a debate on the meaning of 'demigod' in reference to the character Maui. Carol got it right 'demi' meaning 'half human' in French and Middle English. I thought the word was more classically Latin as did Paul so we considered Maui a minor god. Somehow I thought demigod might even refer to a fake or pretend god, but I couldn't find anything to present my case so I kept quiet about it. Kim and Paul sang the songs with Owen and Brennan; this surprised me because it's a typical Disney movie. I don't ever remember singing songs with Kim except the one about the spider climbing up the water spout when she was really little. (1522)

       Later afternoon. Kim, Paul and the boys returned to the beach from the pool and are throwing the football to one another. Carol has been sitting on the balcony reading her book and you are feeling better after prunes and apple juice earlier today. - Amorella

       1646 hours. It has been three days and I was getting quite uncomfortable. I did not go to lunch with them to John's Pass and beyond a few unsalted nuts and a Coke Zero I have had nothing since breakfast but six prunes and a medium glass of apple juice which have done the trick. My lower back is still giving me problems but the pain is not any worse. One or two pills a day is keeping the pain stable. Now that is the only problem. Hmm. Time for a snack.

       1654 hours. Maybe I said a little more than needed.

       Honesty first. You are human and getting a little older each year. Carol even bought you a first box of Depends three weeks ago. You only used one and have not had an accident. - Amorella

       1657 hours. I was embarrassed but they are not diapers in the traditional sense and are amazingly thin and comfortable. Alas, such is life. I have a couple along in case but so far it's been fine. The problem was caused by one of the pills for my terrible chest congestion and cough. When I stopped the pill I had no more sensations of possible embarrassment. Nobody I know talks about this stuff but real life is what it is for those lucky enough to have a longer life. If apple juice and prunes help and a Depends is nearby my immediate quality of life is raised. It is a good day, beautiful Gulf and sky as well as beach and grasses. Kim, Paul, Owen and Brennan are coming in the gate. It was 73 and sunny; now it's 71. The colder wind has gone away.
