Mid-morning.
In less than an hour high tide will hit Madeira Beach, a plus two feet. Carol
is washing/drying clothes and has MSNBC on in the living room. - Amorella
0952 hours.
Heavy waves crashing. Three girls are playing ball with their father (or so he
appears) -- the four are having fun and relaxation all in the moment. The
little one looks to be about three, next, about five and the third, ten. Dad
knows how to 'play' the soccer ball.
Yesterday Linda, Bill, Jenn, Carol and
yourself went to Rae Rae's Cafe for breakfast. You all enjoyed your meals and a
share of homemade doughnuts. After which, Carol and Linda had a walk on the
beach while you, Jenn and Bill exercised in the cool watered pool. - Amorella
1019 hours . I exercised for sixty minutes, kept my watch on 'exercise'
the whole time. I like the watch in the water. I'm tired and need a nap.
Post. Too much yesterday, eh, boy? -

1020 hours. Probably. I moved the entire time.
You had a late lunch at Original Pizza,
splitting a medium half deluxe and half veggie. You brought home some for
supper. Large storm on the way home. You dropped Carol off in the garage and
parked the car in the lot waiting for about a half hour before it calmed down
enough to come in. Beach warning of rip tides through tomorrow. - Amorella
1549 hours. I am sitting in the bedroom at the table and if I focus for
any length of time dizziness almost overcomes me because the large heavy waves
are out of sync, coming in strong through the diagonal plus about thirty to
forty yards out the waves appear convoluted, meeting from several different
unorganized directions. The visual disorientation is enough to give me a
headache if I observed with focus. The Gulf is gray with light green hue. The
sky , is as a single cloud of fog closer
to the horizon. A few more young people are venturing out for the
uniqueness, but when we went out back
during the hurricane some years ago the wind stirred the sand particles into
stinging 'bites' -- it was a unique experience to be sure -- it had to be done
because if you find yourself in a level 3 hurricane you have to go out and
experience it for yourself. Basically, the Gulf shoreline begins to look like
an Atlantic shoreline in its overall tone and natural roughness. The two
earlier adults left their initials on the beach: "DDI" and "TOMMY" as a
tribute to their mortality (I assume). Good think it is not high tide.
You took some photos of last night's sunset.
Why don't you check them out? - Amorella
1606 hours. I can, but I don't know if there is anything unique about
any of them; many sunsets are unique of course. I'll check.

After watching NBC New
tonight you were thinking about universal basic income which has become a
public topic since Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg recently attempted to promote
it. You used the idea in the Merlyn books and will use it in Soki's Choice.
The concept was recently voted down in Switzerland. Here's a bit from
Wikipedia. - Amorella

Basic
income
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A basic income (also called basic income guarantee, Citizen's Income, unconditional basic income,
universal basic income (UBI), or universal demogrant is a form of
social security in which all citizens or residents of a country receive a
regular, unconditional sum of money, either from a government or some other
public institution, independent of any other income.
An unconditional income transfer that is considered insufficient
to meet a person's basic needs (or below the poverty line), is sometimes called
a partial basic income, while one at or greater than that level is
sometimes called a full basic income.
Basic income systems that are financed by the profits of
publicly owned enterprises (often called social dividend, also known as
citizen's dividend) are major components in many proposed models of market
socialism. Basic income schemes have also been promoted within the context of
capitalist systems, where they would be financed through various forms of
taxation, although basic income could be paired with virtually any form of
economic organization whether capitalist or socialist.
Similar proposals for "capital grants provided at the age
of majority" date to Thomas Paine's Agrarian
Justic of 1795, there paired with asset-based egalitarianism. The phrase
"social dividend" was commonly used as a synonym for basic income in
the English-speaking world before 1986, after which the phrase "basic
income" gained widespread currency. Prominent advocates of the concept
included Rutger Bregman, Andre Gorz, Ailisa McKay, Guy Standing, Karl Widerquist,
Hiller Steiner, Peter Vallentyne, Philippe Van Parijs and Milton Friedman. . .

Main article: Basic
Income around the world
Discussion of what eventually came to be called basic income
began with scattered writers in Britain and the United States in the first half
of the twentieth century. The idea quickly gained strength in United States and
Canada in the 1960s and 1970s, but almost as quickly disappeared from the
political scene there by 1980. By that time, the discussion had begun to
develop in Europe where it grew gradually in 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s. Following
the 2009 financial crisis, basic income has seen a significant rise in
prominence around the world. The debate has broadened to most of the developed
world, to Latin America, Middle East, and to at least some countries in Africa
and Asia. Alaska's Permanent Fund Dividend (a cash grant financed out of the
state's sovereign wealth fund called Alaska Permanent Fund) is regarded as one
of the best examples of an existing basic income, even though it's only a
partial basic income.
Other examples of existing basic income, or similar welfare
programs, include the partial basic income in Macao and a short-lived program in
Iran. Basic income trials, such as MIncome, have been conducted in United
States and Canada in the 1960s and 1970s, Namibia (2008–2010), in India
(2011–2013), in Kenya (from 2016), and in Finland (from 2017). Governments and
private institutions are currently discussing new basic income trials in Kenya,
the Netherlands, Ontario, Scotland, Uganda, and the United States. Voters in Switzerland strongly
defeated a referendum on the topic in 2016 with 77 percent voting against the
proposal.

After
reading the article you are more than positive that the whole idea is ridiculous
(pie in the sky) and can't believe you once espoused it in the Merlyn books. -

2008 hours. The above is true today but at the time I was thinking about
the 'Golden Rule' approach to social economics and I was thinking about
marsupial humanoids and not Homo sapiens. You twist me about here, Amorella. My
heart moves to anguish on my words 'pie in the sky', but my mind demands it. It
is as a civil war within heartansoulanmind. My own humanity, or lack of it, embarrasses me at this point. [I look up and see two dolphin swimming south --
first sighting this trip.] I have to resolve this existential thinking point. -
