Yesterday you drove to Kim and Paul's then
you and Kim went to Aunt Patsy's house to browse. You found a portrait of a
Dutchman topped with a black beret sitting at a table, smoking a pipe and
holding a partially built model ship with both hands. It was painted by your
cousin Louis Orndorff. You also found a two seated wooden bench (furniture) and
an antique rocker your great, great, great grandmother Decker brought with her
from Holland. Your cousin Wendy was happy you took them as Aunt Patsy had
wanted them to stay in the family. You drove home this morning and watched the
eclipse in your neighbor's front yard -- everyone shared the same specialized eyeglasses
for viewing. Tonight you and Carol watched last night's PBS Masterpiece
production, "Endeavor" after
having takeout salads from Prada’s Street Italian. - Amorella
2236 hours. I had a nap earlier but I'm ready to go to bed. It has been
a fun but tiring few days. Friday and Saturday we were in area around
Westerville, New Albany, Lewis Center and Sunbury looking towards buying or
building a house sometime in the next year or so. A realtor is coming Wednesday to
give us advice on selling our home in Mason, again, sometime in this next year.
I don't know if we are actually going to go through this process but it is time
to think about returning north to be closer to Kim, Paul and the boys and
Otterbein where Carol and I met and to home base, Westerville. As we age being
closer it will be easier for Kim and Paul to help though we do not want to
become a burden to them or to interfere too closely with their own living and
lives. We have very mixed feelings on this, part of growing older, part of
living a very human life. I am satisfied that we are still very
much in charge of our lives and our eventual return and resettling will keep us
in the forefront of living our own lives our own way as we have for the last
fifty years. - rho
