Notes on a Sunday

Mid-afternoon. Last night, Steve G., your old friend from high school class and college days, called and you talked about moving up his way. Once he heard where he thought that you and he would be closer than Kim and Paul which you agree, may be closer as he lives one township up on Cheshire Road which is the same east/west road that Kim and Paul were near when they first moved back from Cleveland. You talked for about an hour on a variety of mutual topics. Once in a while you, Carol, Steve and Karen get together for lunch so it will be good to be closer. - Amorella

1534 hours. It is always good to hear Steve's voice. He was head of the double E department at Youngstown State until he retired after thirty years. Dr. Steve had a double E mind even in the ninth grade. I love electrical engineering majors minds. Rich G. and Bud C. are my other two engineering minds though their focus is computer software.

Carol is readying for a late lunch at Two Cities pizza uptown. You almost always end up with the medium New York Finest, and you have already suggested to the owners that they put one up in Westerville at the old State theatre. - Amorella

1549 hours. Of course this is their first Two Cities, but who knows, same type cliental or they could put one over near Powell or near Polaris for that matter. What we have already decided to do is come down to Mason about once a quarter for our Two Cities refresher.

Why is it, do you think, that your Warren County and your soon to be Delaware County have such selective citizens? -  Amorella

1556 hours. They are almost all hard core conservative Republicans at heart. Both were (until recently) horse farm oriented counties. Mason-Montgomery Road used to have a Polo Field nearby. Delaware has their betting allowed horseracing tracks as well as Warren. Both have rolling hills with lots of water supply as well as many acres good dirt farmlands. That's the historical base. Plus, both are north of major municipalities, Cincinnati and Columbus. That's where it ends though, Cincinnati is a town of industry and Columbus is a political town as state capital.

Earlier bed tonight. You have errands in the morning and you plan to leave for Kim and Paul's by one thirty to arrive before afternoon traffic. You had an early supper at Two Cities pizza uptown; the same deliciously unique taste in the New York's Finest every time. Home and lingering about after a final stop at Graeter's for dessert. Tonight you watched NBC News and the first two episodes of the second season of "The Crown" on Netflix before coming upstairs. You are in the chair and Carol is reading the local paper that arrived this afternoon. Post. - Amorella

2157 hours. It seems too early for sleep. I'll check the email first, then perhaps listen to some earphone music on Pandora. When I was about eleven and listening to early rock-and-roll and blues secretly with huge war surplus earphones from WWII. They were cumbersome but everyone thought I was quietly sleeping. Some habits don't change much. Goodnight, Amorella.
