This morning Carol
received a call from McSwains and they
are going to put the carpet in on Friday because of a cancellation. You are
happy this event will soon be a part of the past. Your realtor, Susie, will
meet with you both and Kim early Saturday afternoon at home. - Amorella
1941 hours. We unloaded and packed more
boxes, taking some of them to the basement for shelving at least during the
'showing' phase of the operation. We will know more on Saturday. It has been a
hectic day nevertheless searching for boxes large enough to put folded
queen-sized comforters, blankets, spreads in; bulky stuff but not too heavy. I
also rearranged some of the furniture, lamps and boxes already in the basement
to where I am more satisfied with the arrangement.
Why
did you do this when it was not a necessity to spend time doing so? - Amorella
1948 hours. That is a good question,
Amorella. I really don't know. At the time is was something to do rather than
to sit in a chair staring at the formation as a whole-across-the south wall in
two to three layers from the wall (two to four feet from the south wall). Originally,
when we decided to add a family/TV/fireplace room off the southwest side of the
house we also decided to add to the already full basement for extra storage if
we finished the basement. Looking at it earlier today I can see we would have
room in the basement for a full bath, a very good size living room, a microwave
and an apartment sized refrigerator and a 12 by 13 foot bedroom with one window
and the south side and three windows on the north side and an outside entrance
door on the northwest side of the house and still have room for a 10 by 12 foot
of storage area on the southwest side of the house where the base of the
chimney is. If we were near a university it would be ideal for a private
student apartment. Out here in Mason though it wouldn't work so much unless an
older child was going to U.C. (35 minute drive) or even Miami at Oxford (45 to
50 minute drive but less traffic). Anyway, we never followed through. Kim lived
on campus and off campus while at Miami but coming home was easy enough,
especially if she had a lot of clothes to wash. This reminds me of the time
(St. Patrick's Day) Green Beer Day at Miami, when Kim called my classroom phone
to wish me and the class a Happy St. Patrick's Day at 9:30 during second period
Brit Lit class. Kim was quite loud and said the bars were open early. As the
class knew her from a year or two before everyone laughed and cheered at her plight
of dealing with alcohol so early in the day. It was pretty funny and helped
make everyone's day, including mine. Man, did I have a good time teaching
seniors in general and daughter in particular. Good times. All in all, good
times for most class years. There were some tough times too, particularly with
fatal automobile accidents or illnesses.
What a wonderful life I have had so far. Few
regrets. This is not a perfect place but life formed somewhere near water I
assume and eventually here we and the rest of Earth life
are.
Tomorrow we take the cats to Kim and Paul's.
Post.
