Notes - Brennan's Korean Birthday Celebration

You had a good drive to and from Dublin, Ohio and more importantly you and Carol had a very good time at the Paik Family First Birthday Celebration for Brennan. One of the most important events to happen today was that when Owen saw you he came over to your chair and said, "Papa, next week we will come to your house." The just turned three year old was clearly sensitive to the fact that he was at his other grandparents, and he did not want you to feel bad that he was not at your house. To you this showed a spark of the humanity, the empathy, you would hope he developed. The luncheon itself was completely Korean food and quite delicious.

When Owen was one year old he picked the stethoscope first from the table of items he chose which is supposed to show he will go into medicine when he grows up. Brennan, in the same ceremony picked up a pen first, so he should become a scholar. Brennan, as was Owen at one, dressed in a brightly colored Korean outfit for the occasion. Paul's parents and sister, brother-in-law and their daughter Lily and Kim were also witness to the celebration. Brennan had never had cake and didn't really know what to do with it until Owen finger-stabbed the blue icing on his own piece and began eating like you would expect a three-year old boy to eat cake.  Very much a fun day for everyone involved. Lots of photos taken.

Thank you for the description, Amorella. I did not know how to gather up the day in words. (2250)

Enjoy your sleep, boy. Post. - Amorella
