Notes - world / continuity

Late morning. You think you have too many characters in your Merlyn books but don’t know what to do about it. According to the world population clock, at this time there are 7,299,623,051 and counting, now it is 7,299,623,149 and counting. – Amorella

1100 hours. It is exhausting to watch the U.S and World Population chart.

Now think of the dying and recent dead. According to Poodwaddle.com World Deaths are 1,742,488 and counting, now 2,742,526 deaths and counting. – Amorella

1108 hours. Deaths are exhausting enough but births are overwhelming.

And, you are concerned about the number of characters in your Merlyn books. – Amorella

1110 hours. You raise my level of perception.

Your books are one thing; the world is another. Post. - Amorella

1503 hours. (Smashburgers) My focus was on creating a fictional background for both physics and metaphysics as far as the Dead are concerned. I find these sorts of concepts interesting and fun to envision. Basically, it is about timelessness – showing a sense of timelessness in fiction. Evidently, as I continue, timelessness is covered. The marsupial humanoids are structured as our better selves; humanoids that evolved within a kinder physical environment than our own, where the female is the stronger, more central socially environmental factor within the species – lighthearted satire on our male dominance in most earth-oriented cultures. I never thought about making the books more relevant to human culture other than that. As I have said before I don’t feel our humanity is ready (if ever) for a marsupial humanoid like culture. My concept is based more on ‘what if’ rather than ‘raise our culture up to the marsupials’, besides they are not perfect, there is practicality not idealism in their culture. No Utopia’s in here. Somewhat on the same note, I remember reading that the only novel that ever helped center a national debate, at least in the U.S., was Uncle Tom’s Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe. Personally, after further thought, I don’t see that the Merlyn books can be made more relevant to the real world. (1525)

No more angel business flying around in your head? – Amorella

1527 hours. (Kroger’s) Angels, fiction-or-no, are not relevant to modern times either. It doesn’t make any difference to me anymore. I spent some thirty years debating this seeming metaphysical reality in my head – never could or never will resolve this while living. Even when the angelic concept was closer to the culture at hand (17th Century metaphysics), little good came of it. England went through their Civil War at the time. My Merlyn books are related to me because I wrote them out of my own romantically (literasure) inspired interests.
1606 hours (Hallmark/Graeters) Nothing relevant for the Merlyn series has come to mind, so, to the point – I will continue the books as I have been doing. At least there is continuity, a rather unorthodox one, but viable. [I feel foolish not putting in the setting – I feel it adds to authenticity while writing outside the home.]

       Later, boy.  Post. – Amorella
