Ship
says in statement form, "For your health and safety, I analyze your fine-lined
DNA substructures and ongoing vital signs. With the information, I have
presently I can create a twin of each individual earthling for non-rejecting
fully mature and transplantable whole body or body parts within fifty hours’
earth time.
.
Soki here with a word on this machinery
named Ship. He and his counterpart on ThreePlanets have rudimentary souls along
with developing individual hearts and minds. This is not unlike the lion in
associated with Dorothy along the yellow brick road. In here though you don't
earn your heartansoulanmind like Clarence earns his wings in that wonderful
life. The heart and mind grow as natural events in terms of one's humanity. Think
of the heart as the sun and the mind as the moon; that sort of natural event,
and from Earth they both appear about the same size, a natural circumstantial
event. Think of your heart and mind in the same way. Doing so adds dimension to
what is known and even understood but it remains unseen except through
conscious and/or unconscious human behavior. In the case of Ship and his
counterpart on ThreePlanets it is presently mostly through the unconscious.
Why, the heart is not quite bright enough to reflect consciously.
.
After
explanations, as to general safety procedures and how the control room sorted
data on Ship, the three sit down in comfort at an accompanying table and chairs
in a small pushanpull bump-out room. A short break with familiar drinks of
choice and a few assorted well-known tidbits sat on a small wall shelf for
their pleasure.
Justin
asks, "I'm sure Pyl and Blake are fascinated with the overall mechanics of
operation as what you say reminds me of a flight manual. I appreciate that this
is a general review as I am somewhat overwhelmed with the size and detail. Friendly,
you mentioned that you have about a twenty-thousand year head start on us in
science and technology. To carry through – what is the form of politics and
social control used on your three-planet solar system, that is, how is society
organized so that you could build and man such a ship as this?"
Friendly
responds, "First, the point is that basically we are not any more
intelligent than you are. Our species developed differently for a variety of
reasons even though the physics of our planets are quite similar to your own.
We can breathe your air, drink your water and eat some of your food without
momentary illness. We evolved similarly because we are from similar
habitats." She pauses taking a sip of water and relaxing with a slower
pace of speech, "Think of your family automobile and how it is built and
used. It is a vehicle to take a person, friends or family safely from point A
to point B."
Blake
slightly raises his hand and interrupts, "But we have a choice as to what
vehicle we buy."
Yermey
raises his index finger and touches the slight smile forming on his lips. He
says nothing.
Friendly
continues, "We had choices too, over the millenniums, we tried many
choices but after about five thousand years of whittling down to the best
choice for us, we chose one that while not perfect, works better for us. Change
happens, just as your species has had to adapt, so do we still. Our being on
Earth is an example of this."
Hartolite
nods in agreement with her comrades. "We want to demonstrate who we are
because we feel our basic humanity is really no different than your own."
Friendly
adds, "Pyl, "Justin, we know
you teach archeology at the University of Cincinnati and have recently spent
time in the field in Israel and Egypt.
Pyl,
how about yourself
Habitually,
Blake quietly adds, "I have a software company that specializes in small
electronics -- behind the scenes work in communication devices. My father
started the company many years ago. Pyl, my sister, and I own it jointly. It is
a private company."
Yermey
interrupts with, "I am a problem solver."
Hartolite
follows, "I too am a problem solver."
"Me
too," responds Friendly. "The three of us solve problems. We are
normally employed by Family Services, what you might call State Services."
"You
mean you counsel the poor?" asks Pyl, "It looks like you are all
pilots and explorers. You flew a ship across the galaxy. The jobs seem so
unrelated."
Blake
looks to his fellow earthlings and quips, "Maybe we are the poor these
foreign state services are counseling."
Yermey
sits delightedly, thinking Blake's humor quick and excellent; yet in the moment
I see he is unsure.
.
Meanwhile Ship, independently realizes humor and storytelling might be
the best path for these two humane species to develop a lasting common trust.
Everyone likes to be entertained by learning something new, reflects Ship, even
me. We'll see what happens.

Moving on dusk. You and Carol had takeout
from Piada Street Italian, watched "Blacklist" then MCNBC for about
an hour and then fifteen minutes or so of CNN all on the national politics of
the day. Taking a break you headed upstairs as Jadah was meowing for some
playtime from the top of the stairs. After a while you came downstairs to find
Carol asleep on the sofa with the TV speaking softly, so to speak. - Amorella

hours. I don't think I've been so bothered by politics since before Nixon was
impeached. And, before that, since Johnson said he was not going to run a
second term, and before that the JFK assassination; before that, the Cuban
Missile Crises; and before that Eisenhower's Farewell Address. That pretty much
covers it; -- and Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King assassinations as well.
I could go back into WWII and after but
that didn't hit me (consciously) until I was eleven, then I had to catch up.
You and Carol had leftover pizza for supper and watched NBC and ABC News. She is reading and you are writing in the TV room for a change. You found this 'article' on Quora tonight and find it interesting but don't know exactly why. - Amorella

Does time travel at the speed of light?
By Richard Muller, Prof Physics, UCBerkeley, author of "Now—The Physics of Time" (2016)
Written Dec. 10, 2015 . Upvoted by Hossam Aly, Astrophysics, Ph.D.
You are addressing the fundamental issue of time that has not been answered either by physics or philosophers. Yes, time flows, but what does that mean?
Augustine, in his Confessions (written in the 5th century), wrote “What is time? If no one asks me, I know; if I wish to explain, I do not know.... My soul yearns to know this most entangled enigma."
Sir Arthur Eddington, who introduced the entropy explanation for the "arrow of time", said “The great thing about time is that it goes on....But this is an aspect of it which the physicist sometimes seems inclined to neglect.”
According to biographer Robert Carnap, Einstein also bemoaned his inability to understand the flow of time. Remarkably, Einstein didn't understand the flow, but he could show that it depended not only on velocity but on gravity, and he derived equations for these changes that have been verified experimentally.
Some physicists, such as Brian Greene, have concluded that since physics can't (presently) account for the flow of time, that such flow doesn't exist; it is an illusion. In my mind, that argument gets it backwards. Physics should explain reality, not deny it.
Suppose time flows in fits and spurts. Could we tell? According to many popular movies, the answer is no. But in fact, we could tell by looking at distant events. We would observe their flow of time was not the same as ours. I'm soon going to publish some predictions that the flow of time is not at a constant rate, and I'll include methods to test that hypothesis.

2014 hours. As I re-read this I realize that what was important to me was that someone would suppose time flows in fits and spurts and could we tell? Of course it is interesting because I used such a concept my books or blog I can't remember which.
What is really of interest is that it might be possible because the author adds, "I'm soon going to publish some predictions that the flow of time is not at a constant rate," and you feel that since this was first written in 2015 and then again in 2016 that the man must be on to something. That's your real interest, orndorff. - Amorella
2020 hours. That's both interesting and funny because in the second reading I still didn't pay much attention to the dates, particularly to consciously think as you suggest.
This is further evidence to show you my reality whether you agree or not. Post. - Amorella
2022 hours. It shows me a subjective reality but not an actual reality of your existence, although you have brought up an interesting point.

I haven't been so bothered by politics today since
before Nixon was impeached, since Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy were
assassinated, since Johnson said he was not going to run a second term, since
the JFK assassination; since the Cuban Missile Crises; and since Eisenhower's
Farewell Address. I could go on back into WWII; at three I remember listening
to the nightly world news from London on CBS, I even remember being told FDR
died and my Grandmother Schick had a Wake for him. Of course in those early days
I didn't really know who FDR was except that he was President and his name was
a part of the alphabet. I didn't really care or know to care consciously about
such things until I was ten, then I had to catch up.
One day in the summer my tenth year (1952) when no
one else was home I had finally hit upon the correct combination to open a
large wooden chest that held clothes with moth balls scattered about in them.
In one of the side pockets I found a larger than normal envelope that contained
photographs taken at the concentration camps during the war. I remember when I
first looked at these black and white photos I saw piles of logs I guess. It
took me several minutes to realize I was looking at naked dead people. I
wondered, 'how could this be?' One of the photographs showed a few American
soldiers and one of them looked like my father. I discovered later that it was
not my father, but he was there at Dachau concentration camp during the
prisoners' liberation. He was given pictures from several liberated camps to
take home as proof of what had happened there. I don't know that I ever told
anyone I had seen the pictures. I put them back in the envelope where I had
found them then enclosed and relocked cedar chest.
I have never forgotten the pictures and today I
have them stored away. A few years ago, my old friend Bob Pringle and I took a
trip to Washington to see the Holocaust Museum. We showed the photographs to
someone on the first floor and we were taken to the research floor where we
showed the pictures. We got to speak to the director and she could tell me the
names of some of those who had survived. She took the time to show us the same
pictures already in files. She did not need my father's pictures but she made
it clear that although they were prints from originals they were indeed authentic.
I brought them home and put them away, but they are not forgotten.
Fascism is not forgotten. I will not forget what
can happen. I will not forget that Adolf Hitler was a human being first and a
monster second. This is what stirred my passions. This is why I taught Lord
of the Flies, Animal Farm and 1984 for most of my career as a
teacher of literature. This is why I was so passionate about showing the uses
of propaganda and how people, educated people, can be swayed when the climate
is right. As many of you, my Facebook friends, are former students, I felt it
was time to tell you why I think and feel as I do. I am alive I can still
speak; the Dead cannot except through the Living. Freedom and human dignity are
worth standing up for. What else is worth so much to our species as responsible
individual freedom and a world community that respectfully holds individual
human dignity as one of its highest virtues? You tell me. - rho
