Notes - AM / the procedure / lunch / Rose Hill

Mostly mid-morning. Carol is reading the morning paper, you are off to see Dr. M. this morning about a cyst near your right armpit. Paul thinks it's a cyst and last week told you to see your doctor. - Amorella

0954 hours. I think in the seventies I had a cyst on my lower back and had to have it removed at the doctor's office, Dr. Thinnes in those days. I liked him and had both of his daughters in senior college prep Brit lit at Indian Hill. His wife volunteered hours helping out the English department in those days. As we were just back from Brazil she set us up with her husband; we did not have a local doctor at that time (summer of 1972). We have been going to his one-time family practice in Montgomery ever since.

You would just as soon take a nap as you alternated between the bed and the chair again last night. Paul checked at the hospital and said you can take two extra strength Tylenol at night or morning for pain. It can affect the liver while aspirin and the like can affect the kidney thus you are not to take them except for one baby aspirin every other day. About time to go. Post. - Amorella

Afternoon. You had lunch at Chipotle/ Panera at the VOA Centre and a stop at Pets Mart for kitty litter and a toy. Presently you are at Kroger's at Cox and Tylersville for a prescription and groceries. Your 'procedure' with Dr. M. took about thirty minutes beyond what you expected. What you had was an inverted type boil. The sac was full of "oil". The pain was manageable though M. said it was going to burn/hurt, it did, but not so much as you expected. M's pressing the 'stuff' out was more than a bit uncomfortable. There was more blood than you expected (like from a giant cyst) and a lot more 'stuff' also. It took some time to get it lightly covered as it was on the inner edge of the right arm pit. You have antibiotics to take also. On Monday morning (0830) you have another appointment this time to take the long string of blood soaking packing out of the area. It was surprising large for Dr. M. and he said going in that if what he was about to do didn't work you were going straight to the hospital. You are supposed to be resting for the day (not a lot of physical activity), no aspirin because clogging is what you need. You suspect this was larger than what you thought it was. - Amorella

1430 hours. I didn't get the details and while Dr. M. told me what the 'cyst' actually was I forgot the name because it was too long. I'm hoping Paul can tell me. I was in the office for more than an hour. I could tell Dr. M. had done this procedure before but the nurse had never seen it. It hurt some, 6 to 7, but now it is more uncomfortable than anything else. Carol was worried it might be cancerous but evidently that was not the nature of the beast. The real danger was/is further infection which is the reason for the antibiotics Carol is picking up. Personally, I don't think it was that bad, but Paul was right to 'order' me to go to the doctor soon. If I can get the right information I'll check on YouTube and watch a video of the 'procedure' if they have it. They had good ones on carpal tunnel corrections and knee replacements. Dr. M. and the staff do good work!

You are thinking about chapter eighteen as well as working up the social/culture on ThreePlanets. - Amorella

1533 hours. We are at Rose Hill, Carol is walking. My sister, Cathy sent me a note about a book titled ? eves. A didn't remember anything about it but reading the reviews some said it was too much detail and not enough plot. This is a reminded to me not to do the same. A professional critic once wrote that about my first book (a thriller)Anno Dominae back in the late seventies. I never tried to publish it after that. I used it for parts later; never tried to publish those either. I like to write because I love word order but I'm not a very good writer, never have been. That doesn't stop me though. Here's the thing; 26 letters in a culturally set row from A to Z are an absolute waste. I order them (also in a cultural standard) and set them down one after the other. This is not unlike playing with alphabet blocks as a kid. I'm tired and need a nap.

What do you think Ship would say about your above strung out thoughts. - Amorella

1554 hours. He'd probably say I need to get a life, not realizing that this is my life. He'd probably wonder how it was that he (a machine) is a better standard model for consciousness because he's more fit for the real world than biomass consciousness. Personally, I would agree with him. The irony of course is that biomass created the machine in the first place. He was created from a lesser form, and as he is better fit, how could that be that it took a lesser form to create him? And, then he might wonder if it is his 'duty' so to speak to create a 'consciousness' that is better fit than the machine. And, he might set out to do it just for the irony of it.

Carol has completed her walk and you are about to head home. Post. - Amorella
